1. إِنَّ في الصَّبرِ لَخَيراً فَاِصطَبِر

    وَاِستَعِذ بِاللَّهِ مِن سوءِ القَدَر

    Patience is good, so be patient

    And seek refuge in Allah from misfortune

  2. إِجعَلِ الصَّبرَ لِما تحذرُهُ

    جُنَّةً فَالصَّبرُ مِفتاحُ الظَفَر

    Make patience as your armor

    For patience is the key to triumph

  3. كُلُّ مَن حُدِّثت عَنهُ إِنَّهُ

    نالَ خَيراً فَاِعلَمَن أَن قَد صَبَر

    All who I have heard of

    Attained good through patience, know this

  4. إِنَّ في الصَّبرِ مُجيراً لَكَ مِن

    صَولَةِ الهَمِّ إِذا الهَمُّ حَضَر

    In patience there is protection for you

    From the onslaught of worries when they attack

  5. عادَ بِالسّوءِ عَلَيَّ حَذَري

    رُبَّما أَدّى إِلى السّوءِ الحَذَر

    Misfortune may return to me despite my caution

    Perhaps caution itself leads to misfortune

  6. قَدَّرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيَّ أَنَّني

    لا أَرى يَومَ سُرورٍ فَأسَر

    Allah has ordained for me

    That I do not see a day of joy to delight in

  7. أَتجافى عَن هَناتِ لَو بِها

    مُني الخلق جَميعاً لَاِنتَحَر

    I shun the world's pleasures

    If possessing them would make people worship me

  8. إِنَّ في قَلبي وَلا ذَنبَ لَكُم

    حُرقَةً أثبتها فيهِ النَّظَر

    In my heart, though you've done no wrong

    Is a burning ignited by sight

  9. بَصَري جَرَّ عَلى قَلبي الشَّقا

    فَأَراحَ اللَّهُ قَلبي مِن بَصَر

    My eyes dragged grief to my heart

    So may Allah give my heart relief from sight

  10. زادَني شَوقاً إِلَيكُم هَجرُكُم

    رُبَّما يَزدادُ شَوقاً مَن هَجَر

    Being estranged from you increased my longing

    Perhaps longing grows for one estranged

  11. وَعَجيبٌ أَنَّ حُبّي لَكُمُ

    صارَ ذَنبا عِندكُم لا يُغتَفَر

    Wondrous that my love for you

    Became, for you, a sin beyond forgiveness

  12. لا يضق عَفوك ما بي جَلَد

    وَاِغفِري ذَنبي وَإِن كانَ كبَر

    Your forgiveness is boundless despite my hide

    So forgive my sin though it be grave

  13. إِنَّ لِلمَوتِ إِلَيَّ سُبُلاً

    غَيرَ أَنَّ المَوتَ يَأتي بِقَدَر

    Death surely has ways to me

    Except death only comes by divine decree

  14. لامَني النَّاسُ عَلى حُبِّكُم

    خابَ مَن عَنَّفَ فيكُم وَخَسَر

    People blamed me for loving you

    Lost is he who scolded you and failed

  15. وَلَكُمْ نَبلٌ حِدادٌ صُيُبٌ

    نَبلُ حُبٍّ لَم تُفَوَّق بِوَتَر

    You have a nobility, a perfection, a grace

    The nobility of peerless love

  16. فَإِذا ما شِئتِ أَن تَستَعبِدي

    أَحَداً أَرسَلتِ سَهماً فَعَقَر

    When you desire to enslave someone

    You unleash an arrow to wound

  17. فَهوَ عَبدٌ لَيسَ يَعدو كُلَّما

    أَوجَبَ المَولى عَلَيهِ وَأَمَر

    He becomes a slave, moving only

    As his Master obliges and commands

  18. إِنَّني أَصبَحتُ في حُبِّكُمُ

    بَينَ حالَينِ كِلا الحالَينِ شَر

    I have become, in loving you

    Between two states, both calamitous

  19. بَينَ هجرانٍ وَبُعد أَجَّجا

    في بَناتِ القَلبِ ناراً تَستَعِر

    Between estrangement and remoteness which ignited

    Fires aflame in the heart's depths

  20. إِجعَلي نَفسَكِ لي ناصِرَةً

    لَستُ إِلَّا بِكِ مِنكُم اِنتَصَر

    Make yourself an ally for me

    Through you alone from you will I prevail

  21. إِنَّ في الهَجرِ لَداءً مُعضَلاً

    وَلَداءُ الحُبِّ أَدهى وَأَمَر

    In estrangement there is complex malady

    And love's illness is most severe
