You are so dear to me that tears

    Stream from my eyes nonstop

None has favored and privileged me

Over my companions as you have

How good is to leave and differ when

You want something from me and speak to me

    And the wicked blond yields

When I tie the knots of tenderness

    Admitting humiliation, insignificance and pleading

In everything I say to him

O my door, I never forgot you

In my days of prayer and offerings

I whispered prayers and supplications for you

To God near the house raising my hands

Until I felt the Almighty has

    Responded to my prayers

I went to the place of shoes after

    Spending twenty comrades with me

And said: A comrade needs shoes

Even if from my palm’s skin

    The talk stopped at one

Which he chose for my brotherhood

I told him I have good news and gratitude

And little compared to my need

Then after that I chose from sticks

    Matching some of my experience

A pliant one I always liked its seller

Until he prevailed upon me with it

Raising its price while I am obsessed

Until his austerity and my desire met

What you ordered has come to you

    So excuse my little reward

And that is from my master’s blessings

    Not my power or ability
