- بأبي وجهك لو أشBy your face though you mask
- بات يسقيني ويشربHe Keeps Watering Me and Drinking
- باتت تئن وما بها وجديMy Despair Moans Within Me
- ببرق كأشجاني وقطر كأدمعي
- تخير إذا ما كنت في الأمر مرسلاIf You Have A Choice When Sending A Matter
- ثوى الفقه في قعر الثرى مذ ثوى به
- حور بعينيه أطال تحيريMy Eyes' Maidens Prolonged My Perplexity
- خذ الفلس من كف اللئيم فانهTake not the money from a miser's hand, for it
- خذها اليك من الغزال الاحورTake It From Me, The Most Beautiful Gazelle
- خرجنا لنستسقي بيمنِ دعائه
- رأيت في الحمام بدر الدجىI saw the full moon rising at dusk
- رب ليل قطعته بصدودMy Friend's Night
- رضاك شباب لا يليه مشيبYour Youthful Contentment Will Not Last Into Old Age
- رياض اذريون لاح مبتسماA Smiling Face Gleamed in Ezra's Gardens
- رياض من النارنج كالأمن والمنىGardens of Oranges Like Security and Tranquility
- زينها بنفسج كأنه
- سحاب أتى كالأمن بعد تخوفClouds Came Like Safety After Fear
- طرب الشقائق للحمام وقد شدا
- عبثت به الحمى فورد وجههFever Ravaged Him, So His Face Turned Pale
- عهدي بها وضياء الصبح يطفئها
- فحم كيوم الفراق تشعله
- فديت عينيك وإن كانتا
- فكأنه في الماء صاحب مذهبAs if He Were a Man of Doctrine in the Water
- فما شككت وقد جاء البشير بهWhen the herald brought the news to me
- في موقف وقف الحمام ولم يزغ
- قالوا عشقت عظيم الجسم قلت لهمI Love a Tall Man, They Said
- قلت لأصحابي وقد مر بي
- قلت يوماً لمن تمنطق بالزنارI did not speak one day to the one girding himself with the belt
- قلقل ركابك للفلاRattle your stirrups towards the meadow
- كأن ارتجاس الريح في جنباتهاRoar of the wind in its sides
- كأن اسوداد الافق بالليل ثاكلAs Night Darkens the Horizon
- كأن الدجى لما استنارت نجومه
- كأن النجوم الزهر في غلس الدجىLike Stars are Flowers in the Darkness of Night
- كأن بني نعش نساء حواسرAs If the Daughters of Nobility Were Coffins
- كأن نجوم الليل في ظلماتهLike the Stars of the Night in its Darkness
- كأنما المريخ والمشتري
- كأنما نجومهاStars of Night
- كأنه فوق يدي حامله
- كتبت أدام الله عزك سالما
- كتبت وليلي بالسهاد نهارI wrote for Layla's happiness at night
- كغصن ثنته الريح عند اعتدالهLike a Branch Bent by the Wind in its Prime
- لبست نحافة الغصن النحيفI clothed the slimness of the slender branch
- لله أيام مضين قطعتهاBygone Days Allah Has Appointed
- لم أنس دجلة والدجى متصوبI have not forgotten the Tigris and the night dew pouring down
- لم أنس شمس الضحى تطالعنيI have not forgotten the morning sun shining upon me
- لم لا تجن بها القلوبWhy Don't Hearts Reap Its Fruits
- لولا انتهائي لم أطع نهي النهىIf it Wasn't for my Mortality, I Wouldn't Heed Prohibitions

- مغاني تصاب جمعت فرق الصبا
- من ابن رسول الله وابن وصيه
- وآذريون مثل خد متيمAnd a Love Like Taim's Cheek
- وأشجار نارنج كأن ثمارهاAnd orange trees, as if their fruit
- واصفر الجو قد لاحت كواكبه
- وافى كتابك مثلماYour Loyal Book As I Am
- وأقحوان كأن وردتهRoses as though its buds
- والارض من صبغ النبات كأنماThe Earth from the Dye of Plants as Though
- وجاء لا جاء الدجى كأنهAnd night came, it came not as it usually does
- وجمر كتصحيف اسمه في كؤوسهEmbers Like Parchment With His Name Inscribed on the Goblets
- وراح من الشمس مخلوقة
- ورعدة كقارئ متعتعA Shudder Like a Stuttering Reader
- ورياض حاكت لهن الثرياThe Gardens Wove a Brocade for Them
- وفتية من حميرٍ حمرِ الظبىRoses of hope in gardens of glory

- وقفنا نجيل الرأي في ساكني الغضاWe stood revealing thoughts to dwellers in the meadow,
- وكأنما شرك المجرة بينهاAnd As If She Shared Her Galaxy With It
- ولحد حوى شمسا وأرض تضمنتNo One Contains a Sun and Earth Within
- وليلة ترك البرد البلاد بهاFor the Night When The Cold Left the Country
- وليلة كأنها طول الأملA Night As Long As Hope
- وليلة مثل أمرِ الساعة اشتبهتLike the Hour, the Night Drew Its Veil
- وليلة مشتاق كأن نجومها
- ومن خرم غض خلال شقائقMy Heart's Flower Garden
- ويوم كأن الشمس من تحت غيمهOn a Day When the Sun Was Veiled by Clouds
- ويوم كأن الشمس من فرط بردهDay Like the Sun Was Too Cold
- يا واحد الناس لا مستثنيا أحداO Humanity's Only One with None Exempted
- يجود فيستحيي الحيا عند جوده
- يحدو بها الرعد فإن كلت زجرThunder Roars with Ecstasy, If She Refuses then Rebuke
- يفديه من نوب الزمان معاشرMy Friends Shelter Him From the Harshness of Time
