- حنت قلوصي وهنا بعد هدأتهاMy Heart Has Cooled and Here Has Calmed
- رب منهل طام وردت وقد خوىMy Lord, to a deserted spring you came when it had run dry
- رمى الحدثان نسوة آل حربThrowing Stones at the Women of the Harb Clan
- سأبكي وان لم تبك فتيان مذحجI will weep even if the youths of Mudhij do not weep
- سأشكر عمرا أن تراخت منيتيI Have Time to Thank Life While My Wish Sways Within Me
- سقيا لطيفك من خيال طارقA drink for your gentle spirit from a visiting apparition
- سليل النصارى سدت عجلا ولم تكنO progeny of Christians, you soon gained power
- عطاؤكم للضاربين رقابكمYour Generosity to Those Who Strike Your Necks
- فلا تكونن كمن ألقته بطنتهSo be not like the one whom his belly has laid
- فلا يصرم الله اليمين التي علت
- فهذي لأيام الحروب وهذهSo these are for the days of wars, and those
- فهل لكم فيكم وأنتم بأمةA Nation Within Yourselves
- قل للفرزدق والسفاهة كاسمها
- كأن بني أمية حول بشرThe sons of Umayyah surround Bishr,
- كأني بعبد الله يركب ردعهAs You Wish
- لا أحسب الشر جارا لا يفارقنيI do not think evil is my constant companion
- لا تجعلن مبدنا ذا سرة
- لبشر بن مروان على الناس نعمةThe Blessings of People Upon Marwan ibn Al-Hakam
- لعمرك ما هذا بعيش فيبتغى
- لقد أنكحت خوف الهزل عبداI Fear I Have Made Mirth a Slave
- لو شددنا من أخدعيه قليلاMy Friend
- مشى ابن الزبير القهقرى فتقدمتIbn al-Zubayr retreated while
- معاوي أننا بشر فأسجحWe are Humans, So Forgive
- وأسلمني حلمي فبت كأننيMy friend, your words moved me, though I could not understand their full meaning. Let us speak openly and seek wisdom.
