أَجِدّي إِلى مَروانَ عَدواً فَقلِصّي
والّا فَرَوحي واِغتَدي لابنِ عامِرِ
Complain to Marwan, an enemy, so scold him
Or else go away and attack the son of Aamir
إِلى نَفَرٍ حَولَ النَبيِّ بُيوتُهم
مَكاريمُ لِلعافي رِقاقُ المآزِرِ
To a group around the Prophet, their homes
Generous with goodness, humble in dress
لَهُم سَورةٌ في المَجدِ قَد عُلِمَت لهم
تُذَبذِبُ باعَ المتعَبِ المُتَقاصِرِ
They have a chapter in glory, well known to them
It makes the fingers of the tired, weak one shiver
لَهُم عامِرُ البَطحاءِ مِن بَطنِ مَكَّةٍ
وَرومَةَ تَسقى بالجِمال القَياسِرِ
For them is Aamir of Al-Bat’ha, from the valley of Mecca
And Romeh who waters with camels, unyoked
