I see Abdullah riding his swift steed
With a sharp, keen sword in hand
The faithless ones fled from him, and the necks
Of those who pained him bowed westward
They abandoned him, leaving him with his brave band
Tall frames, bare, well-adorned
With the hands of a Thaqif youth whom
Quraysh and those of inherited glory blamed
