فتح كمنبلج الصباح المسفر

يا أيها الرشأ الأغن الأهيف

وافاك فتح واضح الإقبال

I have come to you in victory, clear and welcoming,

أتت طيفا بعد المطال

She came as an apparition after nightfall,

هلال خر من أوج لترب

The crescent slipped from its zenith to set

حق البراعة أن تلقي أزمتها

The mark of genius is to cast off one's chains,

كذا فليكن مدرك للفخار

So let glory be attained by the protector of pottery

أودى الغرام بصب قاده وصبا

Passion brought a youth to his ruin, led by desire,

تبدى هلال السعد من مطلع النصر

The crescent of good fortune rose from the horizon of victory,

حيت رسومك جدة من دار

Your features have become old from the house,

أحمل أنفاس النسيم صبابتي

I fill the breeze's breath with my affection

أجل المعلى من قداح سرور

Raise high the finest drink from cups of joy,

فكم علقت من أمل بدرج

ساق يدير بمقلتيه على

خط الجمال صفحتي خده

وأهيف زانه شكل وقد

يا حسن تمر جال في

مقذف في الهوى مهجتي مسقمي

أجاد القطر من غاد وسار
