- خليلى إن ضاقت بلاد برحبها
- خيرة الله في العباد ومن يعضد
- ربع الفؤاد خلال تلك الأربعQuarter of the Heart During Those Four
- عضدت الندى بالبأس تقضى على العدا
- فإن تك قد غاضت بجود أكفكمThe Generosity of Your Helping Hands
- فدع التمدح بالقديم فكم عفاThe Free Man
- فقلت وقد سئلت بلا احتشامSo I said, when asked without any shame
- فلأكسون علاك كل غريبةStrangers Have Clothed You
- كأن قدودهم أنبتت
- كأني وقد فاضت سيول مدامعىAs Though the Floods of My Tears Have Overflowed
- كم كنت أسمع أن الدهر ذو غيرHow Much I Heard that Time is Fickle
- لا ترج ذا نقص ولو أصبحت
- لا تطمعن فى أرض أن أقيم بهاDo Not Yearn for a Land in Which I Would Abide
- لا تنكرن من الأنام تفاوتاDo Not Deny That People Are Different
- لحقت الماخضين الشعر قبليI caught up with those who churned verse before me, though they emptied the skins of their butter.
- لقد جرد الإسلام منك مهنداIslam Has Stripped You of Your Glory, O Muhammad
- لقد شك طرفي والركائب جنحMy Eyes Have Doubted and the Ships Have Folded Their Wings
- لقد طال هذا الليل بعد فراقهThe Long Night After His Departure
- لكم خيال فى الجفون ممثلYou Believe in Daydreams
- لم تنل بالسيوف في الحرب إلاYou have not attained by the swords in war except
- ليت شعرى كيف أنتم بعدناHow Are You After Us
- لئن زادني قرب المزار تشوقا
- ماله من فتك راحتهMalahu min fatik rahatihi
- هم نصب عيني أنجدوا أوغاروا
- هو الدهر فانظر أى قرن تحاربهIt is Time, so observe what adversary you engage, / When its dark nights and white days have raided us.
- وافى فأردى رجالا بعدما نعمواFaithful, so it destroyed men after they prospered
- وإن أمير المؤمنين وذكرهAnd the Commander of the Faithful and His Mention
- وتلقى الدهر منه بليث غاب
- وخاصمني بدر السما فخصمتهThe full moon reproached me, so I reproached him in return
- وذي هيف يدعى بموسى بطرفهAnd with a cloak called Moses in its fringe,
- وسمر عوال زينتها أكفهمWith bracelets that adorn their wrists they came
- وشادن ما مثله في الجنانWa Shadun Ma Mithluhu Fi Al-Jinan
- وغر على غر جياد كأنماWhite Horses Galloping As Though
- وقبل كفك لا زالت مقبلةBefore your palm—may it remain forever kissed—we never saw a cloud whose rain was gold.
- وقد أنكروا قتلي بسيف لحاظهThey Denied Killing Me with a Sharp Sword
- وما لي إلى ماء سوى النيل غلة
- ومرنح الأعطاف تحسب أنه
- ومصفرة لا عن هوى غير أنهاWith yellowness not from passion, yet she
- ومن نكد الأيام أني كما ترى
- ومهفهف أسياف مقلتهSwords Sharpened by His Words
- ويا عجبا حتى النسيم يخوننىO how strange, even the breeze betrays me
- وينجده إن خانه الدهر أوسطا
- يا أيها الملك الذي أوصافه
- يا ربع أين ترى الأحبة يممواMy Friends, Where Do You Think They've Gone
- يعنفني من لو تحقق ما الهوى
