أرى الباقلاء الباقل اللون لابسا

I see the green beans wearing

حمام بلحظك قد حم لي

A dove with your glance has become enchanted by me

يا من يذم خلائق النمام

O you who blame the faults of others,

يا من تأزر بالمكارم وارتدى

O you who have clothed yourself with virtues and donned

أبشر فقد سفر الثرى عن بشره

Rejoice, for the veil of earth has unveiled its face,

بكت السماء فأضحكت سن الثرى

The sky wept and made the teeth of the earth laugh,

رياض يحييها الحيا بانسكابه

A garden brought to life by overflowing streams

كأن نور الكتان حين بدا

As if the linen's light when it appeared

إنما الورد في ذرى شجراته

The rose's abode is but branches and trees,

وروض أريض لم يزل يغتذي بما

A garden, so green, that is always nourished

فالأرض في بردة من يانع الزهر

The earth in a gown of blossoming flowers,

اصفر الخيري يشهد

The yellow dates bear witness

أشهد الخيري أن الخير في

The goodness witnessed that goodness is in

وسوسن يتهادى

A lily sways gently

وكأس لها كيس على اللب والعقل

A cup with a purse for reason and mind

وجلنار تبدى

أو غوال في لآل

نهار خيريك في ليله

وخرم حلو الحلى
