- انا المذنب الخطأ والعفو واسعI am the guilty, ever-erring one—and pardon is vast.
- شردت يا هذا شرود البعيرYou have strayed, you there, as a camel strays,
- غلبت عليكم هذه القدريهThis Qadariyya faction has prevailed over you.
- فديتك لو لم تكن لي قريباMay I be your ransom! Even if you were not my kinsman,
- قل لأبي يعقوب ان الذيTell Abu Ya'qub that the one
- قل لعريب لا تكوني مسلعسةTell ʿArīb: do not be “musalʿasa” (meaning uncertain).
- لا تلحني ان منحت عشقاDo not blame me if I gave my love
- لي خليطان محكمان يجيداI have two accomplished companions who excel
- ماذا بقلبي من أليم الخفقWhat painful throbbing fills my heart
- من تاه واحدة فته عشراWhoever is haughty once, be haughty ten times,
- وحاكم زامل عبادهA ruler who lived with his servants
- وكنا نرجي أن نرى العدل ظاهراAnd we had hoped to see justice prevail,
- يا أكمل الناس طراًO most perfect of all people,
- يا مسعدي بسيحان فديتكماO you two who aid me at Sayhan, may I be your ransom!
