Do not blame me if I gave my love
Do not reproach me if I have bestowed love
to one who was worthy of love,
on one who is worthy of love.
ولمand not يقدمhe gives precedence عليover me خلقاًany person
ولم يقدم علي خلقاً
ولمand not أقدمI give precedence عليهover him خلقاany person
ولم أقدم عليه خلقا
who preferred no other soul to me,
And he has preferred no one over me,
and for whose sake I would confront any mortal.
and I have preferred no one over him.

He owns my bondage, and I do not seek
He holds me in bondage, and I do not seek
freedom from his possession for as long as I live.
freedom from his ownership for as long as I live.

Among all those I have loved, I have seen no soul
Among those I have loved, I have seen no one
more compassionate than he, nor more tender.
more affectionate than he, nor more tender.
