- إذا كنت لا تدري ولم تك كالذيIf You Don't Know
- اعمل بعلمي وإن قصرت في عمليWork with my knowledge even if I fall short in my deeds
- افخر وكاثر بالقريحةProudest and Most Abundant in Talent
- ألا ينهاك شيبك عن صباكا
- العلم يذكي عقولا حين يصحبهاKnowledge Enlightens Minds When Accompanied
- الله ربي والنبي محمدGod is my Lord and Muhammad is the Prophet
- الله صور كفهGod's Handprint
- المرء ذو صوت يعيش بهA Person with a Voice Lives by It
- إن الخليط تصدعThe Mix Is Cracking
- إن الذي شق فمي ضامنHe Who Cleft My Mouth is Surety
- إن كنت لست معي فالذكر منك هنا
- إن لم يكن لك لحم
- أنست بوحدتي ولزمتIsolation Forgotten, Company Kept
- أيا فرجا من عند رب مفرج
- بطل النحو الذي جمعتمThe Champion of Grammar That You Have Gathered
- ترفعت عن ندى الأعماق وانخفضتAbove the Mists of the Depths and Below
- تكثر من الإخوان ما اسطعت إنهمMany brothers abound when riches gleam bright
- حسبك مما تبتغيه القوتEnough is That Which Sustains You
- رزقت جودا ولم أرزق مروءتهI granted him generosity but did not grant him manliness
- زر وادي القصر نعم القصر والواديVisit the palace valley, what a fine palace and valley
- سألزم نفسي الصفح عن كل مذنب
- سئلوا فأبوا فلقد بخلواThey were asked but refused, so they were miserly indeed.
- صف خلق خود كمثل الشمس إذ بزغتDescribe the nature of your being
- صلب الهجاء على امرىء من قومناThe Firmness of Satire Against One of Our People
- عش ما بدا لك قصرك الموتLive as long as your life seems short
- عقل من يعقل مرآةA Mind of One Who Understands is a Mirror
- غر جهولا أملهHis foolish hopes deceive him,
- قالت أتهزأ بي غداة لقيتها
- كتبت بخطي ما ترى في دفاتريMy Dear Ones, What You See In My Notebooks
- كفاك لم تخلقا للندىEnough, You Were Not Created for Dew
- لا تقبلن الشعر ثم تعقه
- لا يكون السري مثل الدني
- لو كنت تعلم ما أقول عذرتنيIf You Knew What I Say You Would Excuse Me
- ليس المسيء إذا تغيب سوءه
- ما اتسعت أرض إذا كان منNo land, however vast, can contain

- وخصلة يكثر الشيطان إن ذكرتA Strand The Devil Mentions Often
- ورد العفاة المعطشون فأصدروا
- وعاجز الرأي مضياع لفرصته
- وفيت كل صديق ودني ثمناI Fulfilled Every Friend and Neighbor for a Price
- وقبلك داوى المريض الطبيبBefore You The Doctor Healed The Sick
- وما بقيت من اللذات إلاAnd nothing remains of pleasures but
- وما بلغ الإنعام في النفع غايةThe Glorious Bounty
- وما شيء أحب إلى لئيمAnd nothing to a villain is more dear
- وما هي إلا ليلة ثم يومها
- وهذا المال يرزقه رجالAnd this money is granted to men
- يا جنة فاقت الجنان فماOh Garden of Paradise beyond all gardens, no price or value can match you.
- يا ويح قلبي من دواعي الهوىOh my aching heart with passion's pain
- ياذا الذي في الحب يلحى أماO you who suffers from love, don't you know
- يداك يد خيرها يرتجىYour Hands, the Best of Them is Hoped For
- يعيش المرء في أملA Person Lives in Hope
- يقولون لي دار الأحبة قد دنتThey tell me the home of the loved ones has come near
- يممته الرمح شزرا ثم قلت لهI Heard Your Spear Calling
