إِن كُنتَ لَستَ مَعي فَالذِكرُ مِنكَ هُنا

يَرعاكَ قَلبي وَإِن غُيِّبتَ عَن بَصَري

Though you are not with me, remembrance of you is here.

My heart watches over you, though you are hidden from my sight.

العَينُ تَفقِدُ مَن تَهوى وَتُبصِرُهُ

وَناظِرُ القَلبِ لا يَخلو مِنَ النَظَرِ

The eye misses the one it loves, even as it beholds him,

But the heart’s gazing eye is never bereft of sight.
