- أعاذل ليت البحر خمر وليتنيMy Friend
- أعجل ما عنيد إن كنت فاعلاHurry Up if You Are Stubborn
- أقول لذي طرب ضاحكI say to the one with joyful mirth -
- الصمت خير للفتى
- ألم تعلمي يا ربة الخدر أننيI could not see the light, my lady
- أمن قلوص عدت لم يؤذها أحد
- إن شيب الرأس بعد الشبابGray Hair After Youth
- تخالهم صماً عن الجهل والخناSilence Them from Ignorance and Betrayal
- تهادى رجال إن مرضت بشارةMen Gather Around If Bishara Falls Ill
- حلفت برب العيس تهدي بركبها
- دع التصابي فإن الشيب قد لاحا
- ذهب الشباب فما له مردودYouth's Passing, No Turning Back
- ربما أفجع الخليل بِوُديMy friend, let smiles replace tears
- عنت واعدتني الليالي فلا أرىEnta wa'adatni alliyali falaa ara
- عندي نبيذ معسل
- فآليت لا أصطفي بعدهاI could not see the light, after her
- فإن يك هذا الشيب جاء وأصبحتIf This Grayness Has Come and I Have Become
- فدع عنك ما لا تستطيع إلى الذي
- في كل عيش غضارة أودIn Every Life There is Sorrow I Wish
- قد غنينا وما يفرعنا الدهرWe Roamed and Time Could Not Divide Us
- كلما شئت لقيت امرءا
- لا تجزعن متى اتكلت على الذي
- لا تطلبن مودة بشفاعة
- لا تقربن فكاهة في محفل
- لا خير في الهزل فاتركه لطالبهNo good in play, so leave it be
- لقد جاورت بغداذاI Have Dwelt in Baghdad
- لم يبق إلا الغبط والجلاجلThere Is Nothing Left But Sandals and Bells
- لهف نفسي على الزمان وفيMy Soul Yearns for the Past
- ليت شعري بأي حاليك يمضي الـHow are you doing?
- مددت يدي ولم أعلم
- نعى ناعياً عمرو بليل فأسمعا
- هلم اسقني كأساً ودع عنك من أبي
- وإذا أرادك بالوصال مباعد
- وإذا تخيرت الرجال لصحبةMen of Virtue
- واصبر لما جشمت من جشبBe patient for what you felt from devastation
- وأعقد بالود حبل الصفاءI and the Covenant of Affection
- واعلم بأن العلم ينفع من
- والمرء تلقاه مضياعاً لفرصتهA Man Meets His Lost Opportunity
- وإن صمات الصمت خير مغبةSilences of Silence Are Better Than Foolish Talk
- وبينا ترى السلطان بين مواكبAnd While You See the Sultan Among Processions
- وسوء ظنك بالأدنين داعية
- وصاحبين أذاع الدهر بينهماMy friends, time has spread tales between them
- وكل فتى أخطأته الحتوفEvery Young Man Mistaken by Circumstances
- ولقد أمنح الصديق وداداI grant my friend affection
- ولقد عرفت القائلين وقولهمI spread my knowledge and know the minds of the speakers
- وللصمت خير على عيهSilence is Golden
- ولما رأيت الشيب لاح بياضهWhen I Saw the White of Old Age Shining Through
- ولن يستطيع الدهر تغيير خلقهThe Eternal Cannot Change His Nature
- وما الدهر إلا دولتان فدولةThe days of time keep alternating in succession
- ومتم لسواه مالهMy Love's Hair
- ومن يأمن الأيام يوما يرعنهHe Who Trusts in Days, One Day They Will Fail Him
- وهون وجدي أني سوف أغتديMy Friend
- ويا سقياً لسطحٍ أشـAnd a Waterer of a Roof I Have Seen
