- نأى الغزال الذي في القلب موضعهThe gazelle whose place is in my heart has drawn far away.
- ونسوة لمنني في حب ذي كحلAnd women blamed me for loving a kohl-eyed one—
- يا مشتكي الهم دعه وانتظر فرجاO you who complain of sorrow, leave it and await relief
- يا من يذكر خلهO you who remind your dear friend
