وما إن أسيد أبومالك

ورام بعوران الكلام كأنها

أصبحت شيخا أرى الشخصين أربعة

أكرم الضيف والنزيل وإن بت

أهلكنا الليل والنهار معا

هل تعرف الرسم والأطلال والدمنا

عذير الحي من عدوان

واحدة أعضلكم أمرها

إعمد إلى الحق فيما أنت فاعله

إذا ما الدهر جر على أناس

جزعت أمامة أن مشيت على العصا
