بدئي بسم اللّه فيه البركه

I begin in the name of Allah, in Him is blessing

لا يأمنن صروف الدهر إنسان

No human is safe from the blows of fate,

يا ربنا أنل فؤادي وطره

Oh Lord, gladden my heart and delight it

يا مهاة البان يا ذات الدلال

O bearer of tenderness, O you of allure,

الله أكبر من خطب له شان

God is greater than the one whose affair is magnificent

بالله يا ريح الصبا

In God's name, O gentle breeze

رفع الحجب عن بدور الكمال

The veils are lifted from the abodes of perfection

ما زال يرشف من خمر الطلا قمر

The moon still sips from the wine of dalliance,

يا مجيبا دعاء ذي النون

O answerer of the supplication of the owner of the fish,

علام يا من أفاض الدمع كالديم
