- أرى أجأ من وراء الشقيقI see refuge behind the glass
- ألا أبلغ بني أسد رسولShall I send to the sons of Asad a messenger,
- ألا أبلغا وهم بن عمرو رسالةAla Ablagha Wahm Bin Amr Risalah
- ألا أخلفت سوداء منك المواعد
- ألا أرقت عيني فبت أديرهMy eyes have become sleepless, so I will close them
- ألا إنني قد هاجني الليلة الذكرAlas! Tonight memories have stirred me
- ألا سبيل إلى مال يعارضني
- إلههم ربي وربي إلههم
- أما والذي لا يعلم الغيب غيرهAma wa Al-ladhi la ya'lam al-ghayb ghayruh
- أماوي قد طال التجنب والهجرAmawi, estrangement and separation have lasted too long
- إن امرأ القيس أضحى من صنيعتكم
- إن كنت كارهة معيشتناIf You Hate Our Life
- أوقد فإن الليل ليل قرLight the Lamp, For the Night is a Silent Night
- أيا ابنة عبد الله وابنة مالكO Daughter of Abdullah and Daughter of Malik
- بكيت وما يبكيك من طلل قفرI Have Wept And None Weep With Me In These Desolate Ruins
- تداركني جدي بسفح متالعMy friend, let us move forward with wisdom, understanding, and compassion.
- حننت إلى الأجبال أجبال طيئ
- صحا القلب من سلمى وعن أم عامر
- عمرو ابن أوس إذا أشياعه غضبو
- فككت عدياَ كلها من إسارها
- فلا الجود يفني المال قبل فنائه
- فلو كان ما يعطي رياء لأمسكت بهIf What Is Given Were For Vanity I Would Have Held Onto It
- قدوري بصحراء منصوبةMy Pots in the Desert
- كذلك فصدي إن سألت مطيتيThus Is My Steed If You Asked About My Mount
- كريم لا أبيت الليل جادGenerous am I, I do not refuse the night's hospitality
- لا تستري قدري إذا ما طبختهDo Not Hide My Fate When It Is Sealed
- لا نطرق الجارات من بعد هجعةWe visit not our neighbors after nightfall
- لعمرك ما أضاع بنو زيادFor your life, the Bani Ziyad have never lost
- لم ينسني أطلال ماوية ناسيMy Loyal Shadows Never Forget Me
- لما رأيت الناس هرت كلابهمWhen I Saw People Running Like Dogs
- مهلا نوار أقلي اللوم والعذلSlow down, bright star, blame me less and reproach me not
- نعما محل الضيف لو تعلمينهHospitality
- هل الدهر إلا اليوم أو أمس أو غدIs nothing but time today or yesterday or tomorrow
- وإني لأستحيي صحابي أن يرو
- وإني لعف الفقر مشترك الغنىAnd I am necessitous of poverty, shared in wealth
- وخرق كنصل السيف قد رام مصدفيMy Sword's Tip Pierced My Adversary's Armor
- وددت وبيت الله لو أن أنفهI wish, by the House of God, that his nose were but air,
- وعاذلة هبت بليل تلومنيWa Adhilah Habat Bileel Taloomoni
- وفتيان صدق لا ضغائن بينهمTrue Young Men with No Grudges Between Them
- وقائلة أهلكت بالجود مالن
