أَتاني مِنَ الدَيّانِ أَمسِ رِسالَةٌ

وَغَدراً بِحَيٍّ ما يَقولُ مُواسِلُ

A message came to me yesterday from the judge

And treacherously with a living person, the correspondent does not say

هُما سَأَلاني ما فَعَلتُ وَإِنَّني

كَذَلِكَ عَمّا أَحدَثا أَنا سائِلُ

فَقُلتُ أَلا كَيفَ الزَمانُ عَلَيكُم

فَقالا بِخَيرٍ كُلُّ أَرضِكَ سائِلُ
