- حصادك يوما ما زرعت وإنما

- قد قيل قبلي في الكلام الأقدم

- لا ألفينك ثاويا في غربةI do not find you settled in a foreign land
- لا تظهرن لذي جهل معاتبةDo not show resentment to the ignorant
- لا تغرين لجوجا حين تزجرهDon't Provoke An Obstinate Man When You Rebuke Him
- لا در در معشر أنجاسNo good comes from the companionship of vile men.
- لسانك للدنيا عدو مشاحنYour Enemy's Tongue
- موت التقي حياة لا انقطاع لهاAlive is the righteous though death come their way
- وإذا حملت إلى سفيه حكمة
- والعلم يشفى إذا اشتف الجهول بهWhen ignorance is healed by knowledge
- والنجم أقرب من سري إذا اشتملتAnd the star is closer than my secret when I yearned
- وإن جاء ما لا تستطيعان دفعهIf the Inevitable Comes
- وفي البحث قدما والسؤال لذي العمى
- وقور وما في قلبه قلق الصبا
- وكم من صحيح بات للموت آمنا
- وكيف يأمن ريب الدهر مرتهنHow Can One Feel Secure in This Fickle World
- وللموت تغذو الوالدات سخالهاFor Death Do Mothers Feed Their Foolishness
- يا نفس إن سبيل الرشد واضحةMy Soul, the Path of Righteousness is Clear
- يخادع ريب الدهر عن نفسه الفتىMy friend, do not let this fleeting world deceive you
