- المجد والشرف الجسيم الأرفعGlory and great, most exalted honor
- حافظ على النسب النفيس الأرفعGuard your precious, most exalted lineage
- رغمنا بعمرو أنف كسرى وجندهThrough ʿAmr we rubbed the nose of Kisra and his army in the dust,
- صان لي ذمتي وأكرم وجهيHe safeguarded my right to protection and honored my face.
- فبينا نسوس الناس والأمر أمرناWhile we ruled the people and command was ours,
- لا أنس ليلة إذ نزلت بسوحهاI shall not forget the night I alighted in her courtyards,
- لقد حاز عمرو مع قبائل قومهIndeed, ʿAmr, with the tribes of his people, has won
- لم يبق في كل القبائل مطمعAmong all the tribes, no hope remains
- وتواردوا حوض المنية دون أنThey came one after another to Death’s pool rather than let
