- أبيت اللعن والراعي متى ماMy Friend
- إذا تخازرت وما بي من خزرIf fortunes turn against me and I have no allies
- إذا دعاهن ارعوين لصوتهIf the shepherd called them to his voice
- أذودهم عنكم وأنتم رئالةI protect them from you while you are men
- أشاقتك أظعان بجفن يبنبم
- أظعن بصحراء الغبيطين أم نخلO Palm Tree in the Fool's Desert
- أفي الله أن ندعى إذا ما فزعتمIs God that we invoke if you were alarmed
- ألم تر للحريش بقاع بدر
- أما ابن طوق فقد أوفى بذمتهBut Ibn Tuq has fulfilled his promise
- أمسى مقيما بذي العوصاء صيرهEvening Has Come to Stay in Dhi al-'Ushayrah, It Seems
- أمن رسوم بأعلى الجزع من شربA Tranquil Mind at the Height of Despair from Drinking
- أو قارح في الغرابيات ذو نسبA Foreigner in the Suburbs of Descent
- بالعفر دار من جميلة هيجتWith beauty a house in Al-Ufra stirred up
- تأوبني هم مع الليل منصب
- تذكرت أحداجا بأعلى بسيطةI Remembered Someone with Utmost Simplicity
- تظل رياح الصيف تنسج بينهSummer Breezes
- جزى الله عنا جعفرا حين أزلفتGod Reward Ja'far When Brought Near
- جزى الله عوفا من موالي جنابةGod Reward 'Awf for his Noble Deeds
- سمونا بالجياد إلى أعادSummoned Us With Steeds To Return
- صحا قلبه وأقصر اليوم باطلهGood morning my heart and the shortest of his days is in vain
- عرفت لليلى بين وقط فضلفعI Know Laila Between Cats and Mice
- عصيمة أجزيه بما قدمت لهWhat He Has Done For Me Is Enough
- غشيت بِقرا فرط حول مكملI passed by Qurra in the midst of ample dwellings,
- فإنك إن توضخ بدلوك تحتقرYou're a well if you draw your bucket you're despised
- فذب عن العشيرة حيث كانتThe Lonely Ember Where It Lay
- فلا تأمنونا إننا رهط جندبSo do not feel safe from us, we are the band of Junadab
- فما أم أدراص بأرض مضلةThe mother of Daras does not know a misleading land,
- فمشوا إلى الهيجاء في غلوائها
- فنشناهم بأرماح طوال
- فهياك والأمر الذي إن تراحبتBe quick for the task, though its flow
- لا يمنع الناس مني ما أردت ولا
- لحافي لحاف الضيف والبيت بيتهMy blanket is the blanket of the guest and the house is his house
- لعمري لقد زار العبيدي رهطهMy Life, Al-Ubaydi Has Visited His Friends
- لمن طلل بذي خيم قديمTo the one who overlooked the old encampment
- محارمك امنعها من القوم إننيMy Glory Is Your Veil, Conceal It From The People For I Am Yours
- نبئت أن أبا شتيم يدعيI have the Sun
- نهوض بإشناق الديات وحملها
- هريت قصير عذار اللجامA swift doe, slender at the rein
- هل حبل شماء قبل البين موصول
- وأبيك خير إن إبل محمدYour Father is Better if Muhammad's Camels
- وأحمر كالديباج أما سماؤه
- وإنا أناس ما تزال سوامنا
- وأنت ابن أخت الصدق يوم بيوتناYou're My Cousin, Truth's Son, When Our Homes
- وبكل مسترخي الإزار منازل
- وحملت كوري خلف ناجيةI carried my ball behind Najia
- ودار يظعن العاهون عنهاHomesickness Kept Him Night-Bound
- وقد حل بالجفرين جفر تبالةAnd Solitude that Weighed upon the Eyelids is Gone
- ولم أر هالكا من أهل نجدAnd I have not seen one perish from the people of Najd
- ولما التقى الحيان ألقيت العصا
- يشاركنا فيما أصبنا وإن يكنSharing Our Suffering Though Brief
