1. وَأَبيكَ خَيرٍ إِنَّ إِبلَ مُحَمَّدٍ

    غُزُلٌ تَناوَحُ أَن تَهُبَّ شَمالُ

    By your father's goodness, the camels of Muhammad

    Are young she-camels that yearn to roam northwards,

  2. وَإِذا رَأَينَ لَدى الفِناءِ غَريبَةً

    فاضَت لَهُنَّ مِن الدُموعِ سِجالُ

    And when they see a stranger by the enclosure,

    Tears of longing flow copiously from them,

  3. وَتَرى لَها حَدَّ الشِتاءِ عَلى الثَرى

    رَخماً وَما تَحيا لُهنَّ فِصالُ

    And you see them in winter imprint the soil

    With their pads, though no summer awaits them.
