لِحافي لِحافُ الضَيفِ وَالبَيتُ بَيتُهُ
وَلَم يُلهِني عَنهُ غَزالٌ مُقَنَّعُ
My blanket is the blanket of the guest and the house is his house
And no veiled gazelle has distracted me from him
أُحَدِّثُهُ إِنَّ الحَديثَ مِن القِرى
وَتَكلَأُ عَيني عَينَهُ حينَ يَهجَعُ
I talk to him that talk is from the villages
And my eye meets his eye when he lies down
