1. O Lord, the unjust rule of fate
Has wronged me with what it did reveal and conceal

2. And hardships have dug their claws into me
Is there a healer who feels what's inside me?

3. I had a treasure of patience to protect me
From the tongues of slander over what fate has done

4. But the schemes of fate have exhausted it
Since its claws appeared, I have met with wounds

5. It's as if it craves my company, so my troubles
Were facilitated and my pride was diminished

6. And how strange I complain to the one distressing me
Alas, only my crying satisfies him

7. If he wills he saddens me, if he wills he gladdens me
If he wills he degrades me and increases my agony

8. If he tortures me, I'm satisfied, if he wills
My reunion - how much have I wished for a healer!

9. I seek refuge with the Lord of the Throne from every affliction
That protects me, guards me, my family and money

10. And save me from every hardship that hurts me
I call, oh Almighty, make my ropes connected!

12. O Lord I have no one but You, so render
The schemes of fate futile, that have painted me

13. And exhaust us, the people of the age, with their plots
So make them cry from where my crying comes from

14. If they see any favor in me, they all conspire
To deny it until they folded my cloak

15. And if fate humbles me and I confide
In our friendships, they say I am deprived of victory

16. They don't know that I have never ceased to be
On the turbulent sea's coasts anchored

17. Bringing me its pearls where there is no
Supervisor or envier to disturb what's inside me

18. I have always been thirsty to fate
Inclined to the breezes of the Yemeni abode

19. And if sudden catastrophes befall me, expect
Other occurrences - I am always meeting them

20. And change in the universe will be seen until
Fate sees that fate is not remaining

21. Overpowered by destiny, so I initiated him
Blameworthy because of what he ruled for me

22. Imagining no dangerous events of his troubles
Will overpower him - the healing is evident

23. I will call upon fate in every mishap
So a ferocious lion attacks him suddenly

24. And it will spare me from the claws, so he won't
Gloat of who meets wounds in love

25. And if one of them wrongs me greatly I'll pardon him
Hoping for the like of that for what's inside me

26. And if one of them wrongs me small I'll have mercy on him
Because he doesn't know what's in my heart

27. And if my equal wrongs me I'll pray he receives guidance
To reform from where my crying comes from

28. And if he doesn't know of this, the angels will
Deliver my greetings to him

29. It doesn't harm the people of poetry if they refer them
To fate, but I hope for a healing remedy

30. And I don't see revelation returning unless
I prayed for them to take my place

31. So the essence of subtleties can witness them wherever
It has appeared, so they won't deny my state and condition

32. Glorified is He who shows some people wonders
And hides them from others as He wills
