1. The morning breeze whispered and gleamed,
Bearing greetings from the beloved's abode,

2. Where yearning's fires blaze upon the embers,
And the lamp of my longing is lit by desire's spark.

3. My spirit roams the horizons restlessly,
Seeking intimacy's sanctuary in the bosom of nearness.

4. And found in homelands dangers that afflict lovers -
Misfortunes assailed me, on land and sea.

5. Almost did the dust of the earth snare what I sought -
That which evaded me was what I knew not of patience.

6. I roamed the galaxies, more guided therein
Than creatures that crawl and burrow under the earth.

7. I set my face towards peril, wherever it appeared,
And discord in the heavens - where are those who venture?

8. For they have no hands to plunge the ocean's depths,
To see the mines of pearls in the heart of the seas.

9. Nor have they knowledge of it, to dare to brave
Its mighty expanse, throughout the ages.

10. If they traversed a ship sailing with them
Over the backs or bellies of the oceans -

11. Before the night of separation fell, desires stirred,
And the hosts of illusion murmured in the thicket of thought,

12. And the days of distance dropped the curtains of parting,
Turning hearts away from beholding the mysteries.

13. Behold, we plunged into the ocean of grace - we do not
Conceal it, nor keep it hidden, for it overflows with pearls.

14. And we drew wondrous rarities from the sea of wonders -
Gifts I was granted, from the lexicon of divine gifts.

15. And I passed down to those after me a legacy of mysteries,
And endowed them with eternal knowledge, without pride.

16. I traversed tumultuous seas, repelling those who would forbid it,
At which people thrilled with bliss.

17. I witnessed secrets that weigh down reason,
Impenetrable veils, blocking blessings.

18. Yet my Lord brought me near, and revealed to me
The places of secrets, and drew me closer to my path.

19. He taught me the guarded knowledge, and it became
For me a guide - He opened my breast.

20. And sent me out into the world and made my heart receptive,
So whoever seeks wisdom and grace from me

21. Will gain the knowledge bestowed on the ancients,
Or more of the Giver's gifts - endless through the ages.

22. O Educator of wildernesses! Exalted is the command of our God!
The sending of blessings fails to attain thanking You enough.

23. Yours is praise, Lord of the Worlds, as befits
Your dominion of compulsion, over creation and command,

24. By the tongues of the world's hosts, and all types
Of praising hymns! I praise You, my God, but know not

25. With the tongues of angels, tongues of messengers,
And tongues of the Prophet's companions, intimate with secrets,

26. And tongues of individuals, tongues of saviors,
And tongues of bells, beyond counting,

27. And tongues of the multiples of Muhammad's perfection -
Upon him, God's prayers, forever and for always -

28. And his family, the people of inheritance, by whom
The rope of the cosmos holds, despite splitting and breaking.

29. So O Lord of the Worlds, O Granter of wishes,
Make smooth the paths of my friends and those in adversity.

30. Greet us with kindness in every situation,
And allow us success, O Master of Command.

31. Relieve the worries of people, and clothe us in robes
Of compassion, joy and ease.

32. And secure for us times, O Peace, from events,
Pitfalls, anxiety, and tyranny.

33. And purify our hearts from obstacles that lead
To perdition, O Most Holy, O Remover of Harm,

34. To the homeland of loved ones, focus of my hopes,
And birthplace of excellence, glory and pride.
