1. The Rashid came to our East, so it rejoiced,
And with him Islam saw what it had hoped for.
١. وَفَدَ الرَّشيدُ لِشَرقِنا فَتَهَلَّلا
وَرَأَى بِهِ الإِسلامُ ما قَد أَمَّلا
2. With him its impurities were purified,
As though it had drunk a purging medicine.
٢. نَقِيَت بِهِ تُدميرُ مِن أَخلاطِها
فَكَأَنَّما شَرِبَت دَواءً مُسهِلا
