1. Take from your time what is pure
And leave behind all that is troubled
١. خُذْ مِنْ زَمَانِكَ ما صَفَا
ودَعِ الّذي فيهِ الكَدَرْ
2. For life is far too short
To be wasted on the unworthy
٢. فالعُمْرُ أَقْصَرُ مُدَّةً
مِنْ أَنْ يُمَحّقَ بالغِيَرْ
