١. ما الذَّنْبُ إلاَّ لجَدِّيْ حينَ وَرَّثَني
عِلْماً وَوَرَّثَهُ مِنْ قَبْلِ ذاكَ أَبي
2. Thanks be to God whose praises know no end
For gifts determined by ancestry and race.
٢. فالحمدُ للّهِ حَمْداً لا نَفَادَ لَهُ
ما المَرْءُ إلاَّ بِمَا يَحْويْ مِنَ النّسَبِ
