وسَتَرْتُ وَجْهَكَ بالتُّرابِ الأَعْفَرِ
2. By my father I sacrificed you after guarding you from fading away
I turned away from you, was I patient or not?
٢. بأبي بَذَلْتُكَ بعدَ صَوْنٍ للبِلَى
ورَجعتُ عنكَ صَبَرْتُ أَمْ لَمْ أَصْبِرِ
3. If only I could see the traces of fading away
I would have left your face smiling, unburied
