1. After hardship, our meeting was made easy,
So I said, as the beloved smiled and bid farewell:

2. "Are those smiles lightning flashing in the laughing horizon,
Illuminating the lands, or is it my beloved's smile?"

3. And longing's hand drew my chest toward his chest,
And passion said, melting with bliss and comfort:

4. Embrace brings our hearts closer to quench our thirst,
And modesty keeps our bodies apart in wisdom.

5. So when ecstasy melted our flesh and bone,
We became one angel, his bed the sky,

6. And two figures disappeared from sight for so long
The hand of the tormentor shed their tears as blood.

7. Thus is the consequence when one fulfills their vow faithfully:
They see eternity. As for the traitors—Hellfire!

8. If you wish to separate us out of malice, you need only
Ride the wings of space and make the earth your ladder.
