1. To you I sought refuge today, O my support
Since you are more compassionate than a mother to her child

2. You are the generous one without hesitation or boredom
You give vitality like people give to newcomers

3. You are the cloud whose springs have overflowed
Until every melting liver is satiated

4. So have mercy on a youth bitten by the fangs of time without
Fault other than being one of chirping eloquence

5. He loves knowledge and virtue is his trait
And composes poetry like clouds compose hail

6. Destiny consistently harms him
As if it is imprinted with envy

7. To you I raise my question so answer me
O you who became the one relied upon after the Creator

8. You promised and noblemen, if they promise
Fulfill while it is beneath you to exclude me from the count
