1. Awaken, greet me with a smile and peace
The hot breeze split the rose’s veil

2. O you who always rose early for work and piety
Prayer and provision remained constant

3. Dawn with what you loved, you were named
And the day did not know it was coming to an end

4. A gentle twitter, sunshine and greenery
Flowers, vines longing for sprinkles of rain

5. You used to love spring as a joyous companion
So no season remained when you left permanently

6. After yearning for light, fragrance and youth
You wear clay that has narrowed around you

7. How tight is my chest when in it you changed
From breeze and light to imprisonment and darkness

8. Dear to us that you die while our spring
Is a feast where joy lifts its mask

9. Love for the beloved increases with age
And noble love never knew boredom

10. You were healthy so we hoped for healing and health
But that security was followed by calamity

11. You are not for cheer and kindness between us
Nor do we hope for union and obligation

12. Happy are children who have their mothers
And in the custody of the Merciful, the tears of orphans

13. I told an orphan in old age who has no strength
Rather a suckling who cannot endure weaning

14. My tears and remembrance of you never ceased for an hour
In a home covered in the darkness of gloom

15. How often your beautiful face appeared like a star
And sweet conversation flowed from you abundantly

16. So I listen and hope wherever you were though I do not see
And hear what my heart loved and desired

17. O how excellent, a gentle voice and dignified demeanor
What pillar of the house she used to be

18. Your life was bliss and pride for me
And your death returned my chest shattered

19. What could console me from love and sorrow
They have tortured me since I was a boy

20. They were two companions, passion accompanies love
And they carried poison for us and wine

21. I have no patience, O mother, without you though if
You have patience without me I would be fully content

22. It is enough what you suffered for sixty pilgrimages
No disease after today settled incurably

23. You were sleepless for long then slept and so
You complained of wakefulness and so I complained of sleep

24. So rest in a sacred grave
Blessed for what it contains of your bones

25. Your good death in the morning brings you joy
You see fields flourishing with bountiful crops

26. So your beautiful death is a blessing of light
And around you the dawn has shed its darkness

27. To the horizon of lights, fly lightly
Where in those dwellings is no cloudiness

28. No exhausted body, no stifled chest
No anguished heart raising sorrows

29. While we the children of misery, in poverty and riches
Were born to face great adversities

30. Concerns, illnesses, death and regret
We rejoice one day then grieve a year

31. Your memories return to my soul whenever
I look upon the ruins you left

32. I love the one I wept for
And your soul stirs troubles in my soul

33. And I turn away from what is vanity and pleasure
And my conscience fears blame in diversion

34. You cried for me in life and so I
Shed the purest tears of my lament for you

35. And I have not repaid you with my tears and poetry
For our talents bow to your superiority

36. I am the righteous son you knew
Who esteems the noble virtues of honorable sons

37. Did you not attend to me every dawn and night
Sitting by you I desire and standing

38. I scattered flowers, tears and love upon you
And I almost fulfilled an enchanting passion

39. Yet I am pleased with just your apparition and fragrance
So do not deprive me of a breeze or touch

40. Some see gloom in cemeteries
While from you I see joy and peace

41. I will live by your memory which is all
Virtues that remain even if you turn to dust

42. If souls have intimate whispers
Our spirits cannot speak

43. In silence is the passion and nostalgia
That interpret stars or interpret signs

44. If you visit me in spirit O mother alert me
With a tenderness from me that shakes the frame

45. As the soft leaves trembled or the breeze blew gently
So I know I have attained my purpose

46. And if there is no compassion after death
I pitied the loving who sleep soundly

47. People saw goodness, wisdom and propriety from you
And found no blemish among the praises

48. She is the virtuous woman, they say whenever
You were mentioned and righteousness was exalted

49. In that is pride not consolation, for it is
Praise the mention of which passes like swords

50. You took the path of the righteous women and you were
A teacher seeking guidance and system

51. So I have the best inheritance of abundant virtues
And talents that were pillars within you

52. May God reward you, O mother, you are a martyr
Whose killing she saw as an affliction

53. So she wept her eyes and grieved her heart
A feeling like the throwing of arrows

54. Most good of fathers and mothers, is there any
Goodness but the good? You lived a life of goodness.

55. You will meet my good aunts, so greet
Sisters who seek affection

56. They melted in the shade of chambers as lilies melted
In the shade of shrubs together

57. So you withered before your time and had no inclination
Except for bliss while they incline to ease

58. What good companions who until their decay
Thought life was forbidden

59. Peace be upon a pure, immaculate body
That crumbled with worries and then wasted with illnesses

60. Around it angels gathered alive and dead
Throughout its prayers, modesty and fasting

61. Peace be upon a grave that became fragrant soil
I will cry and lament over it with clouds

62. And extract from it an angelic scent
And kiss a grave above it and its pebbles
