As we lost sleep over a right whose killing

15. Is pleasing, longing for wrath,
If war is defending the sanctuary of honor

16. We aim for it even by ruin of the house,
Do not blame us, for the cup of rage is overflowing,

17. We will cut relations after patience,
There must come a term that arrives at the decree

18. As long as the earth is a balance and orbits,
Yesterday made us happy and today makes us miserable

19. So Kadisiya entailed afterwards missteps!
You defeated us but we will defeat you

20. And time has not ceased rotating and overturning,
Before vanishing over hatred and enmity

21. Head to the path and the Pope,
What do the Roman generals want from Arabs?

22. When they were not suitable or akin to them,
If they lose their kingdom they will not lose honor

23. They remained seekers of sublimity and kingship,
They overpowered fate and misfortunes, so they were victorious

24. And glory, if it departed from them, returned in the evening,
The Persians, Romans, and Greeks extended

25. Over the plain rules and etiquette,
But with them they perished, so you do not see

26. Except a trace you encounter suspiciously,
And the Arabs' industries remain constant in it

27. And from it is good tidings and welcoming,
With religion, law, and literature they have not ceased

28. To be masters and lords after the Caliphate,
They did not become non-Arab, rather those who sought Arabness saw

29. Grace and gifts in Arabness,
O Egyptian, be a guide to the Arabs of the West

30. And send the pillars of knowledge from the men,
So that all of Africa is seen gathered

31. On Arabism and the bonds of Islam,
Religion, knowledge, and literature flourish

32. In the filled Azhar mosque with students,
In it are throbbing the hearts of the Muslims

33. As long as there was a heart blaming for God,
In you is the treasure of religion and language

34. So distribute knowledge shining and thriving,
You are the will in the law of the Prophet

35. To his sons so inform Senegal and Gabon,
They did not preserve their kingdom so let them preserve a language

36. Classical and a religion piercing the walls of the kingdom,
Their preservation is renewal of their state

37. And by aspiration the narcissi are given water,
Arabism and Islam are in danger

38. And the sea extends the beaches for the foreigners,
O people of Egypt, the stance of sorrow is respected

39. So silence a temple among you and monks,
I see singing forbidden and silence among you

40. More proper, so deter and forbid and refrain,
Leave the revelry and walk in your funeral

41. For the Romans have prepared the bier’s wood,
The Nile is the army of the sons of Numayr, it was tamed

42. By it, furious and biting,
It strengthened to dye your shed blood

43. Into a crown and throne for its owner and clothes,
And you, Tripoli of the West, who suffered

44. Under the rule of Rome, coercion and injustice,
Upon you the pure blood of the Arabs flowed

45. And the brave forgotten knight was martyred,
A raid of foreigners on ships alarmed you

46. Whose sailors rode the vessels haughtily,
Rebel for revenge, for how many times have you wanted

47. Their cannons isolated when they saw the most honorable deaths as Arabs,
And you, green Tunisia, vitality has departed

48. From you, so you were disgraced in concealing,
When will I see you freely Arab, and see

49. The clouds of the Franks departing from the horizons,
The mirror of your air, their breaths clouded it

50. And the water of your meadows craves no plants,
Patience, beautiful patience, for fate will defeat them

51. And the victorious were conquerors within you,
Remember their era and seek for its return

52. For he who aspires in seeking glory is not disappointed,
They were kings and fate feared them

53. When they rode and marched barefoot and lightly armed,
With their might they strengthened the pillars of a kingdom

54. And the army strikes terror and fright,
This, Sicily the non-Arab, did not speak

55. Except in a tongue that rivals water in drinking,
In it and in the land of Sardinia spread

56. A civilization most like palms in clusters,

57. Its orchards, so the wave and forest yearn,

58. Bringing joy to the people of Alis highlands,
And you, Algiers, remembering you keeps me awake

59. And a heart filled with love of youth has melted,
Have you accepted marriage to the Romans willingly

60. And taken the daughters of the Romans as kindred?
Loyalty to Arabism has become a paragon among creatures

61. So do not be an unbroken mare whose hair is graying,
Uncover the living face and do not

62. Expose it to a foreigner who dislikes and criticizes,
The water of modesty in its vitality

63. Unless veiled protects it, otherwise it flows or is sipped,
O daughter of my people, whose people are of Andalus

64. Do you remember a sky whose full moon has set?
In the shade of a palace and gardens you were raised so do not

65. Forget your family even if you were nurtured among non-Arabs,
Arabism is pride for the exalted who drank

66. A cup of sweetness that gives bitterness taste,
Take courage from religion, etiquette,

67. And remembering glory, if attire recurs,
And do not let a trick or confusion tempt you

68. From a group who bare their claws provocatively,
The affliction is from them, so if they brought remedies

69. They increased your sickness, pains, and wounds,
This is your autumn, and the flowers are withering,

70. So hope after it for a spring or summer,
How many states in you, Marrakesh, have spread

71. And the earth shakes in awe and admiration,
Is there Ubaydid or Almoravid

72. Or Almohad that you long for clusters?
Fez, founded by Idris as capital,

73. And today there is no victor over a usurious merchant,
What form or mark of the Caliphate in you remains

74. So return the spirit and yearning to the people,
And cry over it and repent after disobedience

75. For God was most relenting to the relenting,
Talk is agony and passion is illness,

76. So in the passion of my nation I enjoy hardships,
How many who broke the covenants of the Arabs insult me

77. And I was never an insulter or slanderer,
The manners of my people and my manners I take refuge in

78. Against being with the riffraff and rabble,
Free-spiritedness shook me, so with it I protected

79. Honorable reputations and accounts,
And in my scorn for those below me I see conquest

80. This is my pride over whoever blames or dislikes,
Damascus is no dearer to me than Tripoli,

81. For this bow, its string meets its curvature,
And the Tunisian or the Egyptian in my eyes

82. Is like the Damascene in honor and affection,
All the countries are the countries of the Arabs to me, a homeland

83. In which I roam beating my eyelids,
And all its inhabitants are my family, for they are Arabs,

84. Whether encountered generously or suspiciously,
He who lacks ancestry lacks no etiquette,

85. For they are all Arab in origin, of pure lineage,
The kinship of homeland and manners is dearer to me

86. Than kinship gathering relatives and wombs,
In love of my people I see the horizons vast

87. And the soul hopes for orchards and vines,
So every land where their cloth of bounty spread

88. I yearn for a minaret where is prayer niche and pulpit,
I continue to chastise my heart in loving them

89. Until poetry bursts out from it and flows,
The house was once locked to poetry

90. So I came to open creativity's doors,
And when I saw the bride of poetry naked

91. I clothed her in the most fine garments of the heart,
I blew the horn so their beds cracked

92. And I stayed up to witness heroes and writers,
Their processions marched reciting their regiments

93. Until I became on the day of presentation their overseer,
The land is fervent and a feast from them

94. As if challenging whoever raged or raved,
O daughter of Ya'rub the sword of truth bare and smooth

95. So give it to drink the blood of unbelievers,
And watch over your children and always protect their inheritance

96. For fate has unleashed the Franks like dogs,
And resist the conquest of a fleet with a school

97. For often the paper defeated the sword,
Nations live by their literature and tongues

98. Even if rule becomes distress and hardship,
So give good tidings with God's Book spreading

99. Its tongue and demolish the monks' cells for the Romans,
Maybe the joy of Islam will return to you

100. And you will be safe from whoever departed or blamed,
And recite from the Mus'haf the verses saying:

101. O Muslims, remember religion and ancestry,
And pledge allegiance to the Messenger of God's son, your master,

102. So that you do not see civil strife among you and factions,
The Caliphate extended the shade of its authority

103. Over its sons and blame was reproached,
In East and West the believers sought refuge through it

104. And gathered armies and guards around it,
How excellent a blossoming state that erected

105. From the time of Harun and Al-Ma'mun its thresholds,
My speech is agony and passion is illness,

106. So in the passion of my nation I savor hardship,
How many who broke from the eras of the Arabs insult me

107. And I was never an insulter or slanderer,
The manners of my people and my manners I take refuge in

108. Against being with the vulgar and foolish,
Free-spiritedness shook me, so with it I protected

109. From the noble reputations and accounts,
And in my contempt for those below me I see victory

110. This is my pride over whoever blamed or criticized,
What is Damascus over Tripoli to me?

111. For this bow, its string meets its end,
And the Tunisian or Egyptian in my view

112. Is like the Damascene in honor and affection,
All the countries are the Arab countries to me, a homeland

113. In which I wander beating my eyelids,
And all its inhabitants are my kin, for they are Arabs,

114. Whether encountered generously or suspiciously,
He who lacks ancestry lacks no manners,

115. For they are all Arabs in origin, of pure stock,
The kinship of homeland and manners is dearer to me

116. Than kinship gathering wombs and relatives,
In loving my people expansive horizons I see

117. And the soul aspires to orchards and vines,
So every land where their cloth of bounty spread

118. For a minaret there I yearn, with prayer niche and pulpit,
I continue to chastise my heart in loving them

119. Until from it poetry gushes and flows,
The house was locked to poetry once

120. So I came to open for creativity doors,
And when I saw poetry's bride naked

121. I clothed her in the most fine raiment of the heart,
I blew the horn, so their beds cracked

O daughter of Ya'rub, the sword of truth bare and smooth

125. So give it to drink the blood of unbelievers,
And watch over your children and always protect their legacy

126. For fate made the Franks like unleashed dogs,
And resist the conquest of a fleet with a school

127. For oft the paper defeated the sword,
Nations live by their manners and tongues

128. Even if rule becomes distress and torment,
So proclaim good tidings with God's Book spreading

129. Its tongue, and demolish for Rome cloisters,
Maybe to you returns Islam's joy

130. And from whoever blamed or accused safety you attain,
And recite from the Book verses saying:

131. O Muslims, remember religion and ancestry,
And pledge allegiance to the Messenger's son, your master,

132. So that no strife or factions among you are seen,
The Caliphate cast its authority's shade
