1. O drinker of wine on rose petals,
And plucker of apples from cheeks,

2. I see you in your life in a paradise,
Where you enter the eternal paradise.

3. So rejoice while drunk from it and live
Mocking and joking in earnest.

4. How alike is the weeping to the laughing,
And how alike is man to the monkey.

5. Have no mercy on people, for they had no mercy.
Each says, “The land is mine and mine alone.”

6. If only the creation in their weakness came
Towards me, so my slave becomes my master.

7. Their evil is feared and their good
Is not hoped for, so do not be fooled by the promise.

8. And be strong and bold so that
You may ward off death with effort.

9. And strive to attain something, lest you die
In the agony of deprivation and rejection.

10. What do you expect from rotten blood
Or from a heart made of stone?

11. So distinguish between the red rose
And the yellow, like the dead in the grave.

12. Their resurrection is a resurrection of our hopes
And death from them is the life of comfort.

13. And drink by the lamp until you see
The fire of the Magi in Nahavand.

14. And if the flood blames you in denial,
Tell it, “The deluge is after me.”
