1. Do not seek pity from a coat,
And be gentle with the lean one from leanness.

2. This is what it says,
Be soft like me, else you'll be severed.

3. Woe to me from the waist that is weakening,
In appearance but in love it is my strengthener.

4. Of wonders is the friendship of two opposites,
A slender waist above a lavish hip.

5. I sacrifice her whom in her cheeks is a paradise,
And whose flower has not been smelled or plucked.

6. No wonder that the gathering of all beauty is her stature,
Verily all eloquence is in the Holy Book.
