1. The morning breeze awakened me at dawn
Its fragrance healed my ailing heart

2. The gazelle shone from a sky
Like crystal filled with Nile water

3. I opened my heart to it like an eagle's wing
Its light warmed my frail body

4. The flowers bloomed in every color
Near a tree with shady branches

5. I imagined the field as a peacock walking
Dragging its tail feathers humbly

6. The birds sang in thousands of tunes
Praising this beautiful exalted scene

7. Yearning grew in me for the meadows
I would die there consumed by love

8. On it I pinned all my hopes and love
My heart will never waver or change

9. Shall I frolic there with my friends?
And heal my sickness with its fragrance

10. After death I will be buried in its soil
Remaining a guest among loved ones

11. Its flowers will sprinkle me with dew
Rewarding the one who did good

12. The living girl will remember and weep for me
Weeping like a dove who lost her cooing

13. When the tree branch laments over me
My grave will answer with an echo
