1. Be alert and ready, O Qatib ibn Muslim,
For Tameem is unjust and son of the unjust,

2. And do not feel secure with the rebels nor sleep,
For the brother of Hijaa is not sleeping,

3. And do not trust the Azd, for treachery is their trait,
And Bakr, among whom violating sanctities is made lawful,

4. And indeed I fear for you, O Qatib,
A day like the day of Ibn Khaazim.
