1. O You whose beauty is adorned with majesty,
And from whose light veils dazzle the eyes,

2. What have I to offer You on the Day of Reckoning,
When people throng together in terror?

3. I confess my sin, heedless as I am
Of that which would bring me closer to You.

4. But for every major sin, I trust in Your pardon,
For truly, Your forgiveness is greater.

5. When kings are many, with their many legions,
I find none but You, and seek no multitudes.

6. And when they tyrannize through what You gave them,
I turn to You, humbly asking forgiveness.

7. O Gentle One, my heart melts
With love for You, known to all people.

8. Want in this world is not torment;
Rather, want of You is the clearest agony.

9. The day is dark for me without Your face,
While my night shines through Your beauty.

10. At dawn, when others long for gardens,
I yearn only for Your face, and no other.

11. A sip of the water of Your love
Quenches me, though others seek Al-Kawthar.

12. I have no hope in adorned gardens,
Nor do I fear a blazing Hell.

13. My only hope is to see You, my only fear,
That my sins make me unworthy of Your vision.

14. O You alone who endures, You have
No equal or partner who comes close.

15. You are the Bountiful; sins do not diminish
Your bounty, nor do good deeds increase it.

16. When honored messengers despair
Of pardoning my sin, deeming it unforgivable,

17. You are foremost in excusing and forgiving
Those in despair, and You are best placed to pardon.
