1. Tears have poured from your eyes in sorrow,
And my eyes have the right to overflow for Sa'd.

2. A slain man buried in battle, for whom
Eyes shed copious tears and endless grief.

3. Upon the religion of the Merciful, inheritor of Paradise,
Among the martyrs, his delegation the most honored.

4. If you have bid us farewell out of affection,
And passed your night in the darkness of the grave.

5. Then you, O Sa'd, have been granted a noble death,
And the reward of virtues and praise.

6. By your judgement regarding Qurayza with what
God decreed for them, which you executed deliberately.

7. So God's judgement aligned with yours regarding them,
And you did not pardon when reminded of the covenant.

8. If the tricks of fate have carried you away in the first,
They exchanged this life for the gardens of eternity.

9. Excellent then is the fate of the truthful, when called
To God one day for glory and purpose.
