٢. أَبوكَ لَقيطٌ أَلأَمُ الناسِ مَوضِعاً
تَبَنّى عَلَيكَ اللُؤمَ في كُلِّ مَشهَدِ
3. When time in its advancement overlooks
The shame of a people, your disgrace was yesterday.
٣. إِذا الدَهرُ عَفّى في تَقادُمِ عَهدِهِ
عَلى عارِ قَومٍ كانَ لُؤمُكَ في غَدِ
