1. Worries increased, so tears streamed down

8. People are hostile toward us, yet we have
Only swords, spear-tips, and mail coats

9. We battle people, sparing no one,
Not neglecting what is revealed in surahs

10. Nor does the heat of war make us neglect our sitting place
When its fire blazed.

11. How we drove back at Badr what the hypocrites wanted,
And victory was sent down upon us

12. We are your soldiers on the day of Uhud's setback
When Mudar's tribes routed us

13. But we never lost heart or despaired,
And those people gained no advantage over us
