1. He settled in Mecca for a dozen pilgrimages
Reminding, were he to meet a generous friend

2. And displaying himself before the crowds
But found none to shelter nor anyone calling

3. When he came to us and settled happily
He awoke content in the goodness of Taybah

4. And awoke fearing no unjust enemy
Neither kin nor the people's rebellion

5. We gave him our wealth from the best of our riches
And ourselves in turmoil and discord

6. We battle all who oppose the people
Together, even if the beloved purifies

7. And we know that there is no Lord but Allah
And that Allah's book has become our guide
