A desert whose markings the clouds have erased

2. And the blowing of every gentle breeze
Indeed I saw the encampments adorned

3. With fair faces and trailing robes
Leave this abode and mention of every gossip

4. Of pleasing conversation and pure countenance
Unburden your worries unto God, and you will not see

5. A people so set against wrath
They incited against the Messenger and provoked

6. The people of villages and nomads of the deserts
The army of Uyaynah and son of Harb among them

7. Brandishing at the battle of the factions
Until they reached Medina lusting

8. To kill the Prophet and seize the spoils
And they marched against us, in their hands

9. Were might and rage to push us back
With a gale scattering their assembly

10. And your Lord’s troops, Lord of all lords
God suffices the believers their fighting

11. And rewards them for their patience the best reward
After they despaired, He relieved them

12. With the revelation of our King, the Giver
Bringing joy to Muhammad and his companions

13. And disgracing every doubting denier
Cloaked in unbelief beneath his clothes

14. Though unbelief is not pure raiment
Misery clings to his heart, so he sees

15. In unbelief the end of eras
