1. They turned away from the belly of Mecca, for it
Was anciently inviolable, its sanctuary untrammeled.

2. The Pleiades were not created for nights when it was desecrated,
Since no mighty man of men had designs upon it.

3. Ask the leader of the army about it - what did he see?
And ignorant men will be enlightened about its history.

4. Sixty thousand who never failed their land
And none lived after returning while sick.

5. It was inhabited by ‘Aad and their likes before them
And Allah above His servants ordains its destiny.
