1. Do you make the sons of Darim, O son of Qayn,
Like Shayban, whose fingers old age has impaired,

2. And where is the abode of glory except with them,
And where is generosity except theirs and the chargers?

3. So Shayban did not set out except you saw them
Leading, while the rest of the people following,

4. At Dhi Qar they halted and attacked
Kisra's regiments when rumors were rife,

5. Neither a Yashkuri nor a Dhul went forth there
Nor a Taym, Allah's heads, giving aid.
