From a monkey whose night was not sleepy

13. You have transgressed the limits of Allah since you were a youth
And grew old, yet your old age does not forbid you

The approaches of an impurity, knowledgeable of the wicked women

17. Indeed, expelling Al-Farazdaq from you
Was a purification between the praying place and the frequenter

The birds of calamity have assailed them with the worst of calamities?

Your hide is weak, unsafe from them

21. And you, O son of Al-Qayn, are no blower
With your bellows unless sitting, not getting up

22. So the neighbors did not find a sympathetic rope
Or one who is gallant, determined in his resolves

23. And Quraysh blamed Al-Zubayr, sympathetic
And did not excuse one who was apt to stick around

24. And Quraysh said, if only a sympathetic neighbor
Called out Shabth or was a neighbor of the son of Khaazim

25. And if the rope of the Taymi had seized your neighbor
Its mention would not have been shameful during the seasons

26. While someone else fulfilled his covenant to the Caliph
And someone else disclosed from faces of the frowning

27. For when Mujashiโ abandoned, Waqiโ
Sufficed to heal the crevasse of the intensifying strife

And the feather of the tail follows the leaders

34. And before you, how Al-Ukhaidhir disgraced his people
And delivered them to the narrow, pressing predicament

35. Hold back your greed when the crescent of Al-Jiza draws near
And hasten with the dirhams

36. And among Qays there remain horsemen of Musaddaq
Protectors and carriers of heavy fines

37. And Qays, they are the merit we seek out
For the merit of the efforts and building of morals

I take by the merit of the more generous of the generous

39. I am the son of the heights of glory of Qays and Khandif
They built for me an adversary, high in pillars

ุจููููุง ูููู ุนุงุฏูููุงู ุฑูููุนู ุงูุฏูุนุงุฆูู

40. So if you wish from Qays an impregnable clan
And if you wish a Qhandifi battalion of warriors

And the pillars of Qays - excellent is the cave of those sought for protection

43. The sons of glory are Qays, and the bright rising stars among them
Gave birth to seas for the tumultuous seas

Upon a dreadful lion, biting the forbidden

And the Al-Jawnayn; the necklaces did not withhold them

And โAmr ibn โAmr when they called out, O Darim!

And the firm heroes of Qays the Day of Deer Al-Jamajim

53. You tasked Qays to resound with the sword of Ghalib
And it gained currency at the seasons

57. Violent is Qayn of Mujashiโ in brandishing the sword
Gentle with the back of the heads of the sturdy

With the silence of the spear and the solid striking

And โAmmar attained the flesh of Al-Barajim
