1. If you get angry, you won't be satisfied with anyone,
And I only made you aware out of friendship,

2. Does it grieve you what we did
The day after the sacred months, towards As-Sawad,

3. To the great army of Bani Zubaid,
So he left them with the group of Abi Nijad

4. And the group of Al-Mazini Abi Ka'b,
We left them like ashes that remain after the fire,

5. The birds hover above them and the swords,
With their sharp blades, circle them,

6. So they retreated at that point and allowed us
To seize the white maidens and the little ones,

7. The war booty of our army from every tribe,
Spread out with its varieties and regions,

8. With howdahs like gazelles in a line,
Their eyes as if captivated with pleasure.
