1. By your life! My flesh is not plump
Nor have I milk to feed my children,

2. Nor a loaded camel to provide for them
If a neighbor asks to borrow from me or needs a cloak.

3. I give no one to drink nor quench my own thirst
Though I pour water for my camels when they are parched

4. And save some for the small trees I planted.
I water them while my camels go thirsty.
