1. O Tha'labah, where are the clans of Tha'lab now?
Would that a people might settle in the mountains!

2. I came down upon 'Amr ibn Darma' in Bulṭah
So excellent his generosity, so fair his deeds!

3. My camels wander between the sands and stony ground
Grazing the young, bleating ones among the scrub.

4. And still a group in their determination
Defend them until I say to them, “Enough!”

5. Convey then to Ma'add, and to 'Ibad, and Tayyi'
